10 Different Timelines From The Terminator Universe [Terminator]

I admit it, I have to go and watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles… I have the entire series on DVR, but I have not watched them yet…

But IO9 has really been thinking about the Terminator Franchise lately. They have a breakdown of the 10 Different Timelines From The Terminator Universes. Documenting what has caused the branches in the timelines, and where they fall in the Terminator universe.
It\’s quite impressive the work that they have done, and they even have sent the information to the Producer of the SCC, and received some interesting feedback.

Create Sub Folders in Mail & Archiving – Mac – Apple

Can you create sub-folders in Apple Mail and store them on a drive the way you can do is Microsoft Outlook? In MS Outlook, you could create a .pst folder and create as many sub-folders.
Can you do the same thing in Apple Mail?

Apple Mail can do so much more than OutLook..

Mail uses some lightly different terminology, in Mail \”folders\” are called \”mailboxes\” and they correspond to real folders in the file system in the users account under /Library/Mail/mailboxes/…
Another major difference, is that mail messages and attachments are stored as files in OSX. Continue reading

Rossum Corporation?

Well, Joss Whedon has done it again…  The corporation behind the DollHouse appears to be the Rossum corporation.  (Okay, I\’m slightly behind on Friday\’s Dollhouse episode)…
Still don\’t understand?  How about Wikipedia?

R.U.R. (Rossum\’s Universal Robots) is a science fiction play in the Czech language by Karel ÄŒapek, and an upcoming feature film of the same name from director James Kerwin. It premiered in 1921 and is famous for having introduced and popularized the term robot.
The play begins in a factory that makes \’artificial people\’ — they are called Robots, but are closer to the modern idea of androids or even clones, creatures who can be mistaken for humans. They can plainly think for themselves. Although they seem happy to work for humans, that changes and leads to the end of the human race due to a hostile robot rebellion.

What does this mean for the Dollhouse? Maybe nothing…  But there has been spoilers, and hints, that the Actives will be revolting..  And we have the faction inside the Dollhouse that supposedly tampered with the programming…  Assuming that was not a trick, of course…
Either way, we\’ll find out…  And here\’s hoping to a good continuation of the series…. And now that I have finished watching Echoes..  I have to admit that Joss still has his touch.  I suspect he like\’s his flash back\’s too much for Fox\’s taste…  But he\’s slowing introducing the reality behind the doll house for all to see.

How Marshmallow Peeps Are Made

Fantastic, the Chicago Tribune has discovered my weakness! They are showing a behind the scenes photosummary of how Peeps are made…
I still don\’t believe it though, it\’s one big conspiracy, I tell you! There\’s a hidden valley somewhere where wild peeps roam the range, pining for the buffalo. And several times a year, they are harvested and brought back to the peep packing department for packaging…

MythBusters: MythBusters \’ Adam Savage Talks Tech, Obsessions, and Science

I won\’t hide it… But Mythbusters (on Discovery Channel) is one of my television favorite shows… Yes, there are the sometimes issues with the experiments, but considering the constraints of television, and budget, they do an excellent job.
Lifehacker, has edited transcript of a phone interview with Adam Savage, MythBusters: MythBusters \’ Adam Savage Talks Tech, Obsessions, and Science, Lifehacker: What can we look for in the new season?

Dollhouse Is Safe… Ish [Rumor Killer]

IO9 is reporting that despite disappointing ratings, Fox want you to know that they really will show all of the episodes of Dollhouse\’s first season. Even though there may be some pre-emption happening at some point.

Fansite Dollverse has gotten confirmation from Fox that the remaining six episodes of Joss Whedon\’s mindwipe drama will air on April 3rd, 10th, 24th, and May 1st, 8th and 15th, with the show being pre-empted on April 17th by the return of Prison Break. But the site has also been tipped off that the episode on May 15th is also likely to be pre-empted by the series finale of Prison Break, which leads us to wonder when \’Epitaph One,\’ Dollhouse\’s season (and possibly series, given the ratings) finale will air.

Mac-friendly Houseport USB To Z-Wave adapter shipping soon en masse

Now, I\’m happy with Indigo & Insteon. But there are a few SwitchLinc\’s that aren\’t quite as reliable as I would like (95%?). But I must admit, my house\’s wiring is a rat\’s mess of old (old!) cable, and weirdly wired messes from the previous owners…
For example, the entrance walkway, about 90-95% of the time the insteon command is instantly seen & recognized. Other times, it takes 2-3 retries, and it\’s usually at the worst possible time that it requires the retransmit.
Engadget has pointed out that the Houseport USB to Z-Wave adapter is shipping soon… And it\’s including a Mac version of the Houseport software… Continue reading
