Get Satisfaction, Or Else…

Get Satisfaction, from the content I see on their site is certainly crossing the line with their business model. Instead of ranting myself, I\’ll borrow a few rants from 37signals….

The entire dissection of Get Satisfaction is here.
But case in point:
* Get Satisfaction is misrepresenting themselves as an official support site. And virtually blackmailing companies with their statement (\”XYZ company has not yet committed to open conversations about their products or services\”) that implies that the company does not support their customers & products.
* Get Satisfaction creates a \”company\” web site for each company they supposedly support, but they are asking for $1200/year to remove your competitor\’s advertisements from *your* web page. Doesn\’t that seem like blackmail?

10 Misconceptions About Common Sayings – Listverse

I won\’t repeat this here, simply because I can\’t do this list justice. Take a look at the top 10 misconceptions about Common Sayings from JFrater on Listverse.

10 Misconceptions About Common Sayings – Listverse:

It is no secret that I love language and all things related it to. Also, being a bit of a pedant, I love to share titbits of information about words, phrases, and language in general. Therefore, I have put together a list of misconceptions (one of my favorite types of list) about common sayings. Some involve spelling errors, while others involve conception or comprehension errors. Be sure to tell us your favorite (and by that I mean most hated) common errors in the comments.\”

CADIE awakens

Ah. The Google April first prank has been made public… And if it\’s not an April first prank, then I\’m concerned that we need to find John Connor…

CADIE awakens: \”We do lots of research here at Google, and we release lots of products. And we always hope that the research we do and the products that result will change the world.

CADIE, we\’re fairly certain, is one of those that will. We won\’t pretend to know the future of the world\’s first Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity, but we\’re eager to learn what we can, and to watch and study while CADIE learns what she can. So you can expect to see her influence crop up in a number of Google products in the months to come. That will happen slowly and carefully, though, and we ask for your patience as we work through a few initial bugs. It seems CADIE has a mind of her own…
