The Jedi were the guardians of Peace & Justice for how long?
Darth Mojo has decided to give us his view of \”The Old Republic\” Star Wars MMRPG and he\’s review is fantastic…. I think he\’s hit it right on the nose here….
new star wars trailer released, fans go apeshit « Darth Mojo: \”They were the guardians of peace and justice for thousands of years? It’s hard to believe they managed to get drivers licenses, let alone save the galaxy over and over. In this trailer, One Sith lord and a few henchmen with blasters are all it takes to get past Jedi security (which seems to be mostly made up of mall cops with big guns). You’d think that to get inside ’peace and justice’ headquarters someone would at least have to buzz you in.\”
Indigo & iTunes together?
Folks,
I am currently working on a Web Plugin for Indigo that will be able to drive iTunes natively… Â You will be able to control your playlists, and drive iTune\’s volume levels from the Web GUI…
Anyone interested? Â If so, please let me know at Benjamin AT Schollnick DOT net… Â I will be looking for feedback for features that people want in this plugin.

Torchwood Season 3 Afterthoughts
Well, for those that saw all 5 episodes of Torchwood Season 3, it is now a confusing time… Â How the heck will they be able to put the pieces together for Season 4…. Â Assuming that there is a season 4, that is…
After the first season of Torchwood, we knew that the Torchwood staff could recruit new people to replace the losses from Season 1. Â Season two\’s ending had more of the same, it would still be possible to recruit new staff and so forth.
The Torchwood crew now have lost so much, I just don\’t see how they could recover. Â To my knowledge series/season four has not yet been officially announced by the BBC… Â So that maybe the issue, RTD may want to take the series in a different direction. Â But I have to admit, series/season 4 has exceeded the previous seasons for quality and really impressed me. Â But at the same time, I am 95+% sure that my wife won\’t like it, due to tying Captain Jack to the 1965 incident, has just made him a non-sympathetic character to her… Especially with what happens to Steven…..
This is the Torchwood that I was looking for in the earlier seasons…. Â Here\’s a tip of the glass to RTD & Staff… Â It was dark, gritty, and so much more than a \”sexified\” Doctor Who, mets the X-Files.
Now we wait, and see if Series/Season 4 is announced, and if so how RTD put all the pieces back together…
Need to find out the details of an application? Check here…
Folks,
There\’s a MOSX command line tool, that many people are unaware of called \”file\”. Â This application will give you information about what architectures applications will run on, and if it\’s not an application, it will attempt to identify what the file is.
For example:
dhcp105-53:~ Ben$ file test.pdf test.pdf: PDF document, version 1.3 dhcp105-53:MacOS Ben$ file iChat iChat: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures iChat (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64 iChat (for architecture i386): Mach-O executable i386What does all of this mean?
| Message | Meaning |
| architecture ppc | 32 bit PowerPC Executable |
| architecture ppc64 | 64 bit PowerPC Executable |
| architecture i386 | 32 bit Bit Intel executable |
| architecture x86_64 | 64 bit Bit Intel executable |
The caveat is for applications, you need to actually use file on the executable file, not on the Application Bundle.
So, you will need to open the bundle, and transverse to Contents > MacOS, so for example, for iChat:
cd /Applications/iChat.app/Contents/MacOS
The Middleman\’s Romance With Lacey Almost Didn\’t Happen
One of our favorite parts of superhero-adventure The Middleman is the on-again, off-again romance between the mysterious hero and Lacey, his sidekick\’s roommate. But Javier Grillo-Marxuach tells io9 he fought that storyline tooth and nail. So what happened? Spoilers ahead.
For those of you coming to this late, The Middleman was a graphic novel that spawned a television show on ABC Family last year. It followed the adventures of art student Wendy Watson, who takes a temp job that…
