The Spy Next Door….

He\’s back….. Action-Adventure/Funny Man Jackie Chan is back, in the Spy Next Door… The plot sounds so-so, but you don\’t watch for the plot, you watch Jackie Chan for the action, and humor. The plot is just used to edit the fight scenes together…
Plot: While babysitting his neighbor\’s children, a mild-mannered man (Jackie Chan) winds up having to fight off secret agents after one of the kids inadvertently downloads a secret code.
The only thing is that Jackie is starting to show some of his age and injuries in the latest films…

You Had Me At EHLO… : New version of Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer has been released

Microsoft has released a new version of the Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer. For those of you not familiar with this site, it is a Web-based tool that helps you troubleshoot connectivity issues. The tool simulates several client logon and mail flow scenarios. When a test fails, many of the errors have troubleshooting tips to assist you in correcting the problem.
Please note, this also has ActiveSync tool to help diagnose Activesync issues… (Which is how I use it…)

An Introduction To Adventures In Time And Space…

Hot on the heels of the Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space Roleplaying Game character sheet, publishers Cubicle 7 has released a seven-page preview of game\’s introduction, ahead of the RPG\’s publication at the end of November.

This small segment of the game clearly sets out in its tone, and whole \’what is role-playing\’ approach, that the game is geared towards attracting new players into our hobby (which is no bad thing, and also, doesn\’t automatically imply that the system will be too simple for old grognards like myself to have any interest in. Far from it. The simpler the better, I say – within reason.)

Most of the material is a very basic overview of the Universe the players will be operating in, the core concepts of roleplaying and the nature of the characters available to them (pregens of The Doctor and his companions are, apparently, provided – although not here! – but it also makes it clear that you can create your own characters and setting away from the TV show\’s established format).

The Secret behind Google\’s Technology

The technology behind Google\’s great results

As a Google user, you\’re familiar with the speed and accuracy of a Google search. How exactly does Google manage to find the right results for every query as quickly as it does? The heart of Google\’s search technology is PigeonRankâ„¢, a system for ranking web pages developed by Google foundersLarry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University.

\"PigeonRank

Building upon the breakthrough work of B. F. Skinner, Page and Brin reasoned that low cost pigeon clusters (PCs) could be used to compute the relative value of web pages faster than human editors or machine-based algorithms. And while Google has dozens of engineers working to improve every aspect of our service on a daily basis, PigeonRank continues to provide the basis for all of our web search tools.
