First Glance @ 5×12 & 5×13 (Pandorica Opens & The Big Bang)

Well, Mr. Moffat did it.
Unlike past series, this didn\’t seem to be an Deus Ex Machina, Deus Ex Screwdriver, or Deus Ex Tardis… This season finale answers the majority of our questions, but leaves several minor but large questions as a tease for the next series…
Mainly, why did the Tardis explode? And what\’s up with River Song?
The overall story didn\’t seem rushed, many of the small inconsistencies in the series seem to be explained by the Time Agent Vortex Manipulator & The Doctor crossing into his own time stream….
The ending was mostly priceless…..
Overall, a good 5 out of 5… Both segments worked well, and left us with a solid ending of the season…

iPhone 4\’s yellow spot issue goes away with a bit of time?

Engadget is reporting that they are starting to hear a few reports of the dreaded yellow spots disappearing from the iPhone 4\’s display after a day or so of use. Interestingly, someone posting on the AppleInsider forums seems to know why:

Apple is using a bonding agent called Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 to bond the layers of glass. Apparently, Apple (or more likely Foxconn) is shipping these products so quickly that the evaporation process is not complete. However, after one or two days of use, especially with the screen on, will complete the evaporation process and the yellow \’blotches\’ will disappear. How do I know? I was involved in pitching Z-6011 to Apple.

If this can be trusted, it\’s very good news for those afflicted — though hopefully Apple will keep to its usually painless replacement policy for defective phones either way.

\”yeah thats not what I was looking for at all.\”

David Thorne can be a trip….  A graphics designer that has a sense of humor, and uses his wit sometimes painfully.

Evidently David gets quite a few, unsolicited requests for posters, etc…  This usually turns quite amusing as he discusses the points with these odd-balls that are expecting professional level work for free…

Take the case of Missy the cat…

Figuring Apple\’s App Store gross profit

Apple\’s iTunes App Store may be the biggest mobile application around, but it\’s not much of a revenue generator for the company. The company claims it runs the App Store at \’a bit over break-even\’ and, according to an analysis by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, that is indeed the case. Extrapolating from metrics provided CEO Steve Jobs during his WWDC keynote earlier this month–$1 billion paid to developers for 5 billion free and paid app downloads–Munster figures the App Store has contributed only $189 million to Apple\’s total gross profit since it launched. That\’s about 1 percent of the company\’s $33.7 billion gross profit…..
