Winclone discontinued, again?

The utility Winclone has been invaluable to me, it easily backups and restores Windows Boot Camp partitions….  But the developer has had some issues updating it to work with Windows 7….
A while back, he discontinued updating Winclone, and was convinced by the users to not discontinue the application…  But, it appears that the author may have finally just decided enough is enough…  The twocanoes.com domain can\’t be found (October 14th, 2010), and it appears that the Winclone pages were stamped with \”discontinued\” for a while before the domain disappeared…
Well, we will miss Winclone…  I still will use it…  It still works fantastically with Win XP, and until it breaks, you can\’t beat the ease of use of Winclone…

  1. If a developer decides to discontinue work on a free utility, one would hope they would be kind enough to open source it so the community could keep up the progress. What a GREAT utility.

    1. Overall, I agree. But sometimes there is issues that prevent that, for example, using a commercial library that they do not have the license to distribute… What I really dislike though, is that the Author has claimed that there are tools that work better/replace Winclone, but never supplied this mythical list….
